1969–1972 K5 Blazer Bodies & 1967–1972 C10/K10/C20/K20 Replacement Bodies: Start Your Build With New Steel

1969–1972 K5 Blazer Bodies & 1967–1972 C10/K10/C20/K20 Replacement Bodies: Start Your Build With New Steel

Finding a solid original 1969–1972 K5 Blazer body or 1967–1972 Chevy C10, K10, C20 or K20 cab is getting harder every year.

Decades of rust, previous repairs, accident damage and poorly patched sheet metal can turn what looked like a good restoration project into hundreds of hours of cutting, welding and bodywork.

That is exactly why Rust Belt Offroad builds complete reproduction bodies and replacement cabs for some of the most popular classic Chevrolet and GMC trucks ever produced.

Whether you're restoring a 1969 K5 Blazer, building a 1972 C10 restomod, putting together a lifted K10 4x4, or starting a C20 or K20 build, we can give you a new steel foundation instead of forcing you to rebuild 50-plus-year-old sheet metal.

1969–1972 Chevy K5 Blazer & GMC Jimmy Reproduction Bodies

The first-generation 1969–1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer has become one of the most desirable classic SUVs on the market.

Unfortunately, original K5 Blazer bodies are also notorious for rust and previous repairs in areas including floors, rockers, wheelhouses, bedsides, cowls and door openings.

Instead of spending countless hours repairing an original tub, builders can start with a new 1969–1972 K5 Blazer reproduction body assembled by Rust Belt Offroad.

Our K5 Blazer and GMC Jimmy bodies are assembled in-house at our facility in Canfield, Ohio. We don't simply import a completely assembled body and resell it.

We build them.

Using reproduction steel stampings, dedicated fixtures, datum measurements and industrial water-cooled resistance spot welders, our team assembles each body with close attention to alignment and fitment.

We typically place spot welds approximately every 1½ inches throughout the body assembly to create a strong, consistent structure.

Looking for a K5 Blazer Body Tub?

Customers searching for a:

  • 1969 K5 Blazer body

  • 1970 K5 Blazer body

  • 1971 K5 Blazer body

  • 1972 K5 Blazer body

  • K5 Blazer body tub

  • K5 Blazer replacement body

  • reproduction K5 Blazer body

  • K5 Blazer body for sale

  • GMC Jimmy reproduction body

  • 1969–1972 Blazer firewall-back body

can choose from different levels of assembly depending on their project.

If you already have usable front sheet metal, a firewall-back K5 Blazer body may make the most sense.

If you want to start with substantially more new sheet metal, we can also supply a complete body with the front-end components.

Build Your K5 Blazer Your Way

No two classic truck builds are exactly alike, which is why we offer customization options before the body leaves our shop.

Depending on your build, options can include:

  • 2WD or 4WD floor configuration

  • Original-style or smooth firewall

  • A/C or non-A/C dash configuration

  • Chevrolet, GMC or blank tailgate

  • Front sheet metal

  • Hood and front-end components

  • Custom body modifications

  • Paint and body finishing

  • Bedliner

  • Mechanical installation

That makes our bodies suitable for everything from a mostly stock K5 Blazer restoration to an LS-powered restomod, lifted 4x4, high-end custom build or modernized daily driver.

1967–1972 Chevy C10, K10, C20 & K20 Replacement Cabs

The 1967–1972 Chevy C10 is one of the most recognizable generations of Chevrolet trucks ever built.

Often referred to as the Chevy Action Line, these trucks have become extremely popular for restorations, restomods, LS swaps and custom builds.

But just like the K5 Blazer, starting with an original truck doesn't necessarily mean you're starting with a good cab.

Rust in the cab corners, rockers, floors, firewall, windshield area, roof and A-pillars can quickly turn a project into a major sheet-metal restoration.

Rust Belt Offroad offers new reproduction cab assemblies for:

1967–1972 C10
1967–1972 K10
1967–1972 C20
1967–1972 K20

as well as compatible Chevrolet and GMC C/K-series applications.

Searching for a 67–72 C10 Replacement Cab?

Some of the most common searches from people starting these projects include:

67–72 C10 cab for sale
1967–1972 C10 cab
C10 replacement cab
C10 reproduction cab
complete C10 cab
Chevy C10 body
K10 replacement cab
1967–1972 Chevy truck body
1967–1972 Chevy truck cab
C20 replacement cab
K20 replacement cab

Rust Belt Offroad builds these cab assemblies to eliminate a huge amount of the fabrication normally required when restoring an original cab.

Cab Only or Cab With the Front Clip Installed

One major advantage is the ability to purchase more than just a bare replacement cab.

Rust Belt Offroad can also assemble the 1967–1972 C10/K10/C20/K20 cab with the front clip installed and aligned.

That means the cab, fenders, inner fenders, radiator support, hood and related sheet metal can be fitted together here rather than leaving your restoration shop to start from a pile of individual panels.

Proper front-end alignment matters.

Fender gaps, hood gaps, door gaps, cowl alignment and radiator-support placement all affect one another. Starting with those components properly assembled can eliminate a substantial amount of setup time during the build.

Built on Fixtures — Not Built by Guessing

Reproduction sheet metal is only part of the equation.

How those panels are assembled matters just as much.

At Rust Belt Offroad, our bodies are assembled using dedicated fixtures and measurements based on factory datum points. Our technicians continually check alignment as the body comes together rather than simply welding panels together and hoping everything lines up later.

We also use industrial water-cooled resistance spot welders, allowing us to reproduce the type of spot-welded construction originally used by manufacturers while maintaining consistency throughout the body.

The goal is simple:

Give the restoration shop a better starting point.

When you're investing in a high-end classic truck build, the last place you want to begin is with a cab or body that requires months of structural rust repair before the actual build can even start.

Replacement Body vs. Repairing an Original Cab

There will always be trucks where preserving the original sheet metal makes sense.

But there is also a point where restoration costs can exceed the value of saving badly deteriorated metal.

Consider the labor involved in replacing:

floor pans, cab corners, rockers, lower cowls, firewall sections, roof sections, A-pillars and other structural sheet metal.

Then add the labor required to straighten old collision damage, remove previous repairs and make replacement panels fit together.

For many major restoration and restomod projects, beginning with a new reproduction C10 cab or K5 Blazer body provides a much cleaner starting point.

It also allows your builder to spend more time building the truck you actually want instead of repairing everything that happened to it during the previous five decades.

Stock Restoration, Restomod or Full Custom Build

Our bodies aren't limited to one type of customer.

We've built bodies for customers creating:

  • Factory-style restorations

  • LS-swapped C10s

  • K10 and K20 4x4 builds

  • High-end K5 Blazer restomods

  • GMC Jimmy builds

  • Lowered C10 street trucks

  • Lifted off-road trucks

  • Modern chassis builds

  • Show vehicles

  • Daily drivers

Because we build these bodies in-house, customers can discuss many modifications with us before assembly is completed.

That can save considerable time compared with purchasing a finished body and then cutting it apart again to make the changes your build requires.

Your Classic Chevy Truck Doesn't Have to Start With Rust

There was a time when restoring a 1969 K5 Blazer or 1972 C10 meant searching salvage yards and classified ads hoping to find something slightly better than what you already had.

That isn't your only option anymore.

If you're searching for a 1969–1972 K5 Blazer body, GMC Jimmy body, 1967–1972 C10 replacement cab, K10 cab, C20 body or K20 body, Rust Belt Offroad can build a new steel foundation for your project.

From firewall-back bodies to complete cab and front-end assemblies, paint, bodywork and mechanical services, we can take your project much further than simply supplying a stack of sheet metal.

Built Better. Built Here. Built to Last.
